The Meister Singer Singulator wins the Red Dot product design award.

April 2010 - This is already the fifth time that a watch from MeisterSinger has been honored with the coveted Red Dot award.

The MeisterSinger Singulator is the first single-hand watch in the world that shows the hours, minutes, and seconds with the use of a single hand.

This revolutionary innovation is the result of consistant development from the MeisterSinger brand design philosophy. The circle is the focal design element of a MeisterSinger; the Singulator incorporates itself into the MeisterSinger family as a logically and gracefully designed unit that utilizes single-hand technology to not only read off the time in five minute increments, but to the precise minute and second.

The MeisterSinger philosphy is that of a relaxed perception of time and the new Singulator is consistant with this philosphy. In order to bring together the three functions of keeping the hour, minute, and second, in tune with the principle of the single-hand watch, our watch designers had to invent a new gear wheel. The special arrangement of the small minute-hand and second-hand indicators fails with normal gear wheels; too much use causes the time indicator to be imprecise. In place of the gear wheel, a spring wheel provides the Singulator with the highest level of precision.

With completely new technology, LIGA, a play-free cog that guarantees the best accuracy was developed. A little MasterPiece from a very special MeisterSinger. The Red Dot design award is one of the most sought after design achievements and quality seals for high carat design in the world. Since 1955 it has been bestowed by the Center for Design in Nordrhein Westfalen. This year, around 1600 enterprises from 57 countries have presented their products to the expert Red Dot award jury. Only a few of the 4250 entries may go one to adorn themselves with the famous red dot, a characteristic mark of outstanding quality in a product. MeisterSinger watches have already been bestowed with this seal of approval in the past; in 2004 for the classic MeisterSinger N° 01, in 2008 for the Monograph, and in 2009 for the Perigraph and Singular.
