In the year 2000, German bass-baritone Marek Kalbus was presented with an award at the renowned Belvedere Song Festival in Vienna. After having performed in different German opera houses, his breakthrough came in 2004 when he performed in Richard Wagner’s opera "Parsifal", a coproduction between the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and the Teatro Carlo Felice Genua. Since then, guest performances have taken him regularly to major musical centers around the world, including Milan, Berlin, Antwerp, Palermo, Prague, Hamburg, Cagliari, Beirut and Bonn. Three CDs and one DVD are available in music stores.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Bayerische Kammeroper in the Orangery of the Würzburg Residence, where Marek Kalbus performed in Mozart’s "Zauberflöte". There Manfred Brassler personally presented him with the Archao Gold.
